The custom webpage has support for remote lockout (that way people can’t trigger lighting cues during a service), but also has the ability to enter a password to override the lockout. I wrote a little server in node.js that communicates with the M-Series Manager telnet server, and sends that data to a custom webpage running on an 8″ Kindle Fire. So we just needed to write our own web server that would talk to the M-Series Manager telnet server and a cheap tablet to mount by the main door. Luckily, M-Series manager has a telnet server that gives you access to a lot more information than the web server, and an adapter exists to allow our existing house light system to speak DMX. Unfortunately, there were still a couple problems: Our existing house light system didn’t speak DMX, and the M-Series Manager web server lacked some important features (like remote lockout and ability to tell which cues are active).

Martin M-PC has a little addon program, M-Series Manager, which lets you create simple web pages to trigger light cues. We started using Martin M-PC around Easter to control our stage lighting. Anyone want to guess which button turns the lights on? The Solution

This presented a problem: Anyone using the auditorium would have to walk through the dark into the soundbooth, try to find the switch, and figure out which magic button turned the lights on. When our building was built-out, due to budget constraints the only house lighting controls were placed in the sound booth.
